Description

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12‑25 year olds, along with assistance in promoting young peoples' wellbeing.  This covers four core areas: mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services.

 

About the role:

  • Full-time 75 hours per fortnight Mon-Fri
  • Completing assessments and planning targeted support with young people and their families / carers.
  • Providing time limited targeted interventions to young people and being inclusive of their families, friends and carers in their treatment.
  • Provision of consultancy, advocacy, information and liaison services to individual GPs about mental health issues.
  • Consulting and liaising with other health and community service agencies to facilitate a coordinated approach in the young person’s treatment and recovery.

 

Qualifications:

  • The role is applicable to suitably experienced and qualified Psychologists, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists or Mental Health Nurses.
  • Current and full registration with appropriate registration authority (AHPRA or AASW).
  • National Police Check and Department of Human Services Child-Related Employment Screening
