How our Podiatrists can help you;

Podiatrists are highly trained health professionals in lower leg health; the way you walk, the type of sensations that you feel when walking and checking the quality of the blood flowing into your lower legs and feet. In-depth understanding and knowledge of lower leg muscles, bones, blood flow, and nerves, enables them to recognise problems and work out the best way to treat them.

Some of the most common reasons to see a podiatrist include:

• Hard skin, toenails, corns, wart
• Foot pain
• Ingrown toenails and toenail surgery
• Diabetic foot assessments and ongoing care
• Nerve and blood flow assessments
• Advice on the best footwear for your feet
• Wound care and assessment

Our podiatrists work closely with the rest of our allied health team, including dieticians and diabetic nurse educators. If we feel that additional support from the team could help you achieve your personal goals, we can get them involved, with your permission. 

How do I access this service?

For Private Appointments

Country & Outback Health provide private podiatry appointments in Whyalla and Quorn. Private appointments may be subsidised (have part of the payment covered) by Medicare or your Private Health Fund, depending on your situation.

Government funded appointments

Country & Outback Health offers free Podiatry Services to communities with a population of less than 8,000. If you would like to have a chat with one of our Podiatrists, make an appointment with your doctor and ask for a referral to Country & Outback Health. After getting a referral from your doctor, you will be offered a 1-hour initial appointment and ongoing support as you need.

For NDIS Participants

We provide NDIS-funded appointments across the Eyre Peninsula and Flinders regions. To book an appointment please call 8644 4900 or complete the online NDIS referral form below

How much does this service cost?

Free podiatry appointments have been made possible by funding and support from Country SA PHN (CSAPHN)

If Allied Health services have been included in your NDIS plan, you will find them under Capacity Building Supports listed as Improved Daily Living or Improved Health and Wellbeing.
