headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds, along with assistance in promoting young peoples' wellbeing. This covers four core areas: mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services.

About the role:

  • We offer this exciting opportunity to join our team at headspace Port Augusta, working in remote communities including Marree, Oodnadatta, Yalata in close partnerships with the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
  • The Youth Engagement & Intake Officer will respond in a timely and effective manner to requests for headspace Port Augusta services by conducting psychosocial assessments including risk assessments and formulating case plans in collaboration with the young person.
  • The Youth Engagement & Intake Officer will provide advocacy, care coordination and link young people with vocational / educational and social supports.
  • The Youth Engagement & Intake Officer will facilitate community engagement activities and group activities to engage young people and raise mental heath literacy.

Qualifications:

  • The role is applicable to suitably experienced and qualified Psychologists, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists or Nurses.
  • Current and full registration with appropriate registration authority (AHPRA or AASW)
  • National Police Check and Department of Human Services Child-Related Employment Screening
