headspace Port Augusta was established in 2013 and is one of a number of similar service centres well-known across Australia as one of the premier youth sector organisations.
This centre aims to improve the well-being of young people aged 12-25 years, by providing services focused on and engaging with issues of mental health, employment, and drug and alcohol.
headspace prides itself on being a welcoming, inclusive and supportive service for young people. It endeavours to provide youth friendly, accessible and integrated services with a focus on early intervention and health promotion.
headspace is supported by an active consortium that involves young people in shaping the centre’s future directions. Youth input is achieved through the Youth Crew, who play an integral and active role in the centre’s activities and management. They are supported by consortium members who have considerable experience from a wide-range of human service sectors.
